Use EventCompletion in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor with MCP

Connect EventCompletion to your AI assistant with one URL: ask when an event starts, how far along it is, or create a countdown without leaving the chat.

AI assistants are good at conversation and bad at knowing exactly when things happen. EventCompletion now has an MCP server, so an assistant can look up event dates itself instead of guessing.

What MCP is, in one paragraph

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for an AI assistant to call tools on another service. You add a server by its URL once, and the assistant can then use the tools it offers during any conversation.

Add EventCompletion

The server address is:

https://eventcompletion.com/mcp
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http eventcompletion https://eventcompletion.com/mcp
  • Claude (claude.ai or Desktop): Settings, Connectors, add a custom connector and paste the address.
  • ChatGPT: Settings, Connectors, add a remote MCP server with the address (depending on your plan, developer mode may be needed).
  • Cursor, VS Code and others: add it to your MCP configuration with the http type and the same URL.

No key is needed to read.

What you can ask

  • “When does the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup start?”
  • “What are the French school holidays for zone B in 2027?”
  • “Which tech trade shows happen in the next three months?”
  • “How far along is the Premier League season?”

The assistant uses three read-only tools (search_events, upcoming_events and get_event). Each answer includes the event’s dates, its progress right now, where the dates were verified, and the page to cite.

Creating events from a conversation

An assistant can also create an event for you, for example “make a countdown for my launch from April 1 to April 30”. For that it needs an API key: the register_agent tool issues one, and you confirm the contact e-mail address by clicking a link. Events created this way are live at their own address but are not listed in the catalogue, and each one is linked to the key that created it. There is a limit of 10 events per day per key.

Prefer a plain API?

The same data is available as JSON, described in an OpenAPI file, and as Markdown pages for each event. The agents page lists everything, including the limits.
