Notion pages are great for plans and dashboards, but static text goes stale. An EventCompletion embed shows the percentage completed and the days left, and keeps itself up to date.
Quick setup
- Create an event with a name, a start date and an end date.
- On the event page, open the Share section and click Embed.
- Under Notion, click the copy button to get the embed link.
- In Notion, type
/embedon a new line and paste the link. - Click Embed link. The progress bar appears in your page.
No account is needed on either side beyond your own Notion workspace.
Compact or full size
The embed dialog gives you two layouts:
- Normal shows the cover image, the percentage, the progress bar and the dates. It works well as a standalone block.
- Compact is a shorter card. It fits inside a dashboard next to other blocks.
In Notion you can drag the embed’s edges to resize it. If part of the card is cut off, make the block taller.
Ideas for your workspace
- Project timelines. One embed per phase at the top of the project page.
- Product launches. A countdown card on the launch checklist.
- Goals and habits. A 90-day challenge next to the daily tracker.
- Team dashboards. A row of compact embeds, one per ongoing initiative.
Troubleshooting
The embed is empty or shows an error. Check that you pasted the embed link from the Embed dialog and not a link from another site. Reload the Notion page.
The numbers look stuck. The embed recalculates each time it loads. Reload the Notion page to refresh it.
I changed my plans. Dates cannot be edited on an existing event. Create a new event with the new dates and replace the embed.
