ISO week numbering
The week number follows ISO 8601, used across Europe, in many companies and in business calendars. Weeks start on Monday and week 1 is the week that contains the first Thursday of the year.
As a result, the first days of January can belong to week 52 or 53 of the previous year, and the last days of December to week 1 of the next. The tool shows the matching ISO year to avoid confusion.
A year has 52 or 53 weeks. The calculator also gives the Monday and the Sunday of the chosen week, which helps with a schedule, payroll, a sprint or a delivery promised for “week 12”.
